In addition to separating the PAR and TBCIV by one slot, as you
mentioned, I also added a second fan to cool them.  On the A2000, there
is just enough room to attach a low-profile fan (1" ?) to the front of
the card slots (using some sturdy packing tape).  The fan is nicely
concealed behind the A2000 front panel when the cover is on, and draws
air up through the vents at the base of the front panel.  Being late to
the PAR game, I was able to find a drive which is very fast, cool, and
inexpensive.  The Quantum Fireball 1.08Gig does 6.35 - 6.5 Mb / sec.
across its surface and runs cooler than any high performance drive I've
ever touched (even cooler than "low-performance" drives)!  It appears
that I can add a second one stacked on the first (at the expense of good
mechanical practices) without interfering with the cover.  This drive is
now priced at $217 locally.  It was recently qualified by DPS and has a
block limit of 300.
